On August 7, SM Entertainment's avid followers Pink Bloods opened an online discussion, where they tackled about the agency's future. This is due to the consecutive departures of its well-known artists such as Kyuhyun of Super Junior and Sunny of Girls' Generation.
Earlier on July 14, SM Entertainment officially announced that Super Junior members Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun have not renewed their contracts. Kyuhyun's career was further updated on August 7, when he signed an exclusive contract under Antenna.

On August 8, SNSD member Sunny officially confirmed on her Instagram that she is now leaving SM Entertainment after 16 years.
"Today, I would like to thank SM Entertainment, which helped the 19-year-old Lee Soon Kyu (real name) make her debut as Sunny of Girls' Generation."
"As of now, I'm doing my best to be courageous and see myself from a different viewpoint in a new environment. It's all thanks to the support and love fans gave me for a long time."
After Sunny dropped the big news, SM later confirmed Sunny's withdrawal from the agency through an official statement.
"Sunny's contract under our agency has ended."

Meanwhile, on the same day (August 8), EXO member Baekhyun hosted a live broadcast, where he announced his plans to launch his own company. Although not reportedly leaving SM, Baekhyun still managed to get fans' attention.
The singer revealed how his agency One Signature (temporary name), will be in collaboration with choreographer Kasper. Baekhyun also revealed that he plans to release a separate company, which will manage his solo activities.
"It's not yet materialized, but I've been researching a lot and trying my best to produce good results in the best way. I will tell you all later, but my company will be revealed under a name other than One Signature."
