On August 14, a Korean news outlet uploaded a video showing EXO's airport departure.

At the location, the members slayed their casual fits and flaunted their visuals, gaining attention from the press.

However, on the same day (August 14), a forum was created online by a netizen, who pointed out the members' proximity to one another. The author mentioned that Suho, Chanyeol, D.O, and Sehun were standing on one side, while Baekhyun and Xiumin were in a separate space.

The author wrote:

"Suho, Chanyeol, D.O, and Sehun were all on one side. Baekhyun and Xiumin were both standing apart. Chen is having a schedule overseas, so he didn't leave with them, and Kai is serving (in the military).

I know it can't be helped since this is based on EXO's own discretion, but personally, I wonder if they think that ChenBaekXi being in their little group is too much? I may be overthinking this, but these are my thoughts."

Meanwhile, the post quickly received a high number of upvotes that increased its popularity. Netizens commented that they agree with the claims of EXO members putting a distance between each other. They remarked:

•  "I watched it myself. I'm not hating but seriously, they separated like that and walked around? They didn't even meet each other's eyes and they were so apart."
•  "When they walked the crosswalk, it was really obvious. They could've stood together but they fell apart."

On June 1, EXO-CBX, comprised of members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, became involved in a legal battle against SM Entertainment. The members filed a contract termination statement through their legal representative and lawyer Lee Jae Hak from Lin law firm.

This issue was resolved on June 19, when SM and EXO-CBX came into an agreement. According to their joint statement, the concerns regarding the members' contract relationship was solved through an in-depth discussion.

Later on August 8, Baekhyun hosted a livestream and announced his plans for his own company. The "UN Village" singer informed fans about One Signature (tentative name), and the mechanics needed to solidify the company's blueprints.

Baekhyun also imparted that a separate company will be launched for the purpose of managing his solo activities and clarified the reports of a 10 million USD house purchase. Moreover, the idol assured everyone that he will continue his group activities under SM Entertainment.
