Jihyo and Key have opened up about their struggles on living solo after the dorm life with their respective groups.

Here's what the two iconic K-pop stars said.

The Untold Challenges: TWICE Jihyo, SHINee Key Open Up About Solo Life's Hidden Struggles

Living in a dorm is one of the biggest parts of being a K-pop idol, since that's where they stay during their promotions and activities. Apart from their profession-related routine, dorms also play a big part for both idols and fans, since lots of memories are made there.

However, when a group makes their longtime experience in the industry, some may even split into smaller rooms to enjoy additional space. Regardless of whether they decided to live apart or together, fans will still remember their faves' moments in their dorms.

The same goes for idols, as they're also willing to express their thoughts regarding solo living. TWICE's leader Jihyo has appeared in an episode of MBC's "I Live Alone," where she toured audiences around her beautiful apartment.

During an interview, Jihyo elaborated that she bought her own apartment because she saw interest in living alone. Her feelings are understandable since she has already stayed with her fellow TWICE bandmates for six years.

Jihyo then explained that this decision didn't happen overnight, because it's something that she pondered on about for a long time. Eventually, the idol concluded that she wanted to do it since she's at the right age.

The "Killin' Me Good' singer stated:

"I became independent, and I've been living alone for 2 years. I thought that I wanted to live by myself, given my age. I also considered it because I lived in a dorm for around 6 years.

I thought about it lots and I ended up living by myself."

Jihyo then shared about how she was scared at first but adapted otherwise when enough time had passed. The idol also expressed how convenient it was living solo.

"At first, I was terrified, so I ended up locking everything. Every door (in the apartment) was locked before I went to because I was scared.

But now that I got used to it, it felt so convenient for me."

However, SHINee member Key also imparted the struggles of living alone. Key revealed that the hardest part when settling is the looming silence, to which Jihyo immediately agreed since both idols have had the experience of living together with their bandmates.

Their conversation is as follows:

Key: "But the hardest part (in living alone) to get used to is the silence."

Jihyo: "That is right, that's why I always leave the TV on."

Key: "There's a clear difference between wanting silence and being forced to stay silent."
