EXO Baekhyun Shares Reason He Doesn't Listen to His Own Songs
Baekhyun's singing voice has one of the most distinct tones in K-pop, and this is evident with EXO's songs, as well as his own solo tracks.
Well-loved for his ability to deliver exceptional performances through his versatile range, unique voice color, and techniques, these aspects are major factors on why Baekhyun's songs are worth listening to. However, it doesn't mean the idol listens to them.
Baekhyun appeared on the second episode of "Colde's blue room," where he conversed with his dear friend and collaborator, Colde. To promote his newly released album "Love Part 2," Colde decided to share a nice talk with Baekhyun about the music.

During their conversation, their topic transitioned to Baekhyun's "Delight" acoustic side track "Love Again" that was composed and written by Colde himself. Baekhyun then mentioned his thoughts about the music, before confessing that he doesn't actually listen to his own songs.
Colde: "'Love Again' was actually a song that was released while I'm working on the 'LOVE' (series), and it could've been in my album if we weren't close."
Colde: "But then as soon as I got a chance to work with you, I just thought that it'd be good to hear this in your own singing."
Baekhyun: "That's right, when I think of love, I think of that song a lot, and you know, I actually don't listen to my own song that much. I don't really listen to the songs I sing."

Afterwards, Baekhyun revealed that he only listens to his songs when tracking progress of his vocal abilities, instead of simply enjoying it.
Baekhyun: "I just listen to my song to check out if anything has changed a lot in terms of skills or abilities compared to the past and present. But I don't listen to my song to enjoy it. Since it's my song, I tend to analyze it with a cool head, there's not much enjoying while doing that."

However, the singer followed up that "Love Again" from "Delight" and "Love Scene" from "Bambi" were the only songs he only listens to due to its meaningful lyrics.
Baekhyun: "I listen to the songs 'Love Again' and 'Love Scene' quite often. I think the lyrics were exactly what I was hoping for."
