SM Entertainment Releases Lami's 'it'SMe' Project Pictorial

Former SM Rookies Lami, who was supposed to join aespa, expressed her desire to become a full-fledged actress through her recent pictorial!

On September 6, Lami unveiled the "it'SMe" project pictorial, introducing herself on SM Entertainment's official Instagram account, SM ACT!ST and on SMTOWN's SNS.

In particular, Lami drew attention for her first official photos released after she left SM Rookies. But this time, Lami showed the sensibility of an actress, not of an idol.

In her photos, Lami turned heads with her signature clear and pure charm, regardless if she's smiling or not. Her calm expression reminded the "first love" you can't forget, while her lively smile with her sparkling eyes brought back the feeling of "youth."

Although her photos were simple and she's barely wearing makeup, K-pop fans praised her natural beauty.

Lami Signs With SM Entertainment as Actress

Kim Sung Kyung, also known as Lami, initially established her name in 2013 as a member of SM Rookies, a pre-debut group under SM Entertainment.

Aside from her idol skills and personality, Lami was greatly admired for her top visuals. Even before her debut, she already became a hot topic after her cameo appearance in Red Velvet's "Happiness" MV.

She gained even more love and support after becoming a "Mickey Mouse Club" member along with other SM Rookies.

In 2017, it was reported that she was preparing for her debut in SR16G, hereinafter aespa. However, she left SM in 2020, with speculations that she didn't make it in the final cut.

In December 2022, it was reported that she returned to SM to become an actress and last May, she pursued her acting career with a supporting role in the drama, "Oh! Youngsim," starring Super Junior Donghae and actress Song Ha Yoon.

During her appearance, she impressed viewers with her stable acting skills in the role of Sang Eun and expectations are high for her endless performances as an actress in the future.
