Although Warner Music is yet to make an official statement, G-Dragon, who has over 22 million followers, posted the photo on his personal SNS, which is interpreted as no different from making it official through foreign media outlets.

In particular, Warner Music is one of the top three music labels in the United States along with Universal Music and Sony Music.

With the popularity of K-pop soaring in the music industry, it has been secretly said that Warner Music is showing interest in K-pop singers such as FIFTY FIFTY.

Therefore, the meeting between Warner Music and G-Dragon is a "big deal" in which the two sides' interests in acquiring K-pop and global activities are aligned.

K-netz Wonder What Would Be YG Entertainment's Future Without G-Dragon

When this report spread online, K-netizens and K-pop fans couldn't help but wonder what would happen to YG's future without its top artist G-Dragon, considering BLACKPINK's contract renewal is also not going smoothly.

In June, it was earlier confirmed that GD's contract with YG expired, but the agency explained that they are still discussing separate contracts for his other activities such as advertising and additional contracts when he wants to resume his music activities.

But with the reports that G-Dragon already took the hands of Warner Music, thereare claims that the aforementioned discussion also fell through.

Currently, fans are expressing their curiosity about what will happen to YG if G-Dragon fully leaves the company.

  • "GD is YG's identity and color itself, so I'm surprised he's leaving. Anyway, wherever GD goes, he'll do well because he made everything with his own hands, but YG, who has lost its color, will just go down the path of decline."
  • "If there's no GD, there's no more YG. GD was the one who made it into one of the top 3 small agencies with his genius. YG was holding on to him so bad so congratulations on finally escaping, just make a comeback!"
  • "The G is n YG is gone."

  • "To be honest, GD is higher than Yang Hyun Suk in terms of presence in YG, both in terms of achievements and influence. They should have just kicked out Yang Hyun Suk and made GD the president."
  • "YG was on the verge of being sold because the company had no money but overflowing with debt but it was BIGBANG and G-Dragon who saved them. But they didn't give BIGBANG and GD any better treatment and only gave them shxt, which is a shame."
  • "You can only make idols who have to do everything from one to ten for the rest of your life. You can't make a monster group like BIGBANG that can grow and maintain its position for 20 years on its own, so stop looking for the second GD and be realistic like other agencies."
