On October 12, Sandara Park guested in Kim Jaejoong's show "Jaefriends," which released its 12th episode.
Fans of both artists were thrilled to see them engage in a casual conversation since Dara and Jaejoong were also top stars during K-pop's second gen. Being a former member of 2NE1, Dara and Jaejoong talked about their history in the industry together.
With the K-pop icons being in two different major agencies, Dara made a surprising revelation as to why she thinks she would've been better off at SM instead of her former agency YG Entertainment, shocking Jaejoong.

Dara shared that she thinks this way since she had been hearing people exclaim about the "weird" hairstyles YG made her do during her 2NE1 days. She also shared that people believed that her looks and time were "wasted," given that she's one of K-pop's iconic visual idols.
Dara: "I actually think I would've been better off If I went to SM."
Jaejoong: "What? Why?"
Dara: "It's because a lot of people say that 'if Sandara had gone to SM Entertainment, she would've done nicer things, but YG Entertainment made her do weird hairstyles. It's such a waste for her looks and time.'"
Dara's unconventional hairstyles during her time in 2NE1 were ones that fans could never hope to forget. K-pop's golden age was known for being experimental in terms of music, fashion, styling, and concepts.
With these aspects coming into bloom, Dara went viral every time she changed her hairdo. These styles include her iconic debut mohawk, palm tree styling, and many more.
Jaejoong shared his fair share of grievance, stating that while he also took part in the trend by doing spiky hair, people still noticed Dara more. The two then conversed about Dara's preparation, as well as her struggles with the odd hairstyles.
Jaejoong: "I was called out for doing spikey hair too, but people really came for her more than me. How long did it take to do?"
Dara: "It took 4 hours."
Jaejoong: "What? Which order did the members get ready?"
Dara: "I think I was always first because I always volunteered. I feel anxious if I'm not prepared."
Jaejoong: "You can still sleep in this look (shows palm tree hairstyle) because the hair would stay put even when you lay down."
Dara: The cars didn't have sunroofs at that time. I was always leaning, my neck hurt so bad."
