Kim Tae Woo Apologizes for Illegal Use of Ambulance, Driver Sentenced to Prison
On October 16, g.o.d. Kim Tae Woo wrote an apology for his illegal use of an ambulance and released it through his current agency IOK Company.
According to Korean news outlets on October 15, Kim Tae Woo paid ₩300,000 won (approximately $221 USD) to a private ambulance driver to drive him from Goyang to Seoul in March 2018.
Police reports disclosed that an agency staff member from Kim Tae Woo's previous company recommended that using an ambulance to their Seoul destination would help avoid traffic and at the same time, travel to the venue in a much faster rate.

Sources also state that the ₩300,000 won payment was given by the event organizer. However, this led the ambulance driver to be sentenced in prison for one year and six months. The driver was also fined with a total of 2 million won, which is approximately $1,476 USD.
Meanwhile, when the prosecution ensued, it suggested that the staff member and Kim Tae Woo would be fined without a court trial procedure.

On October 16, the controversy gained the response of IOK Company, which released Kim Tae Woo's apology. The agency also assured everyone that such mishaps won't ever happen again by taking careful measures regarding their artist management.

"Hello, this is IOK Company, the agency of Kim Tae Woo.
We would like to send our apologies regarding the incident that was recounted on October 15. In this official statement, we would also like to present Kim Tae Woo's personal take on the situation as well.
'Hello. This is Kim Tae Woo. I want to apologize for having disappointed many people with this incident. I am deeply remorseful for my actions, as the incident was truly my fault without any excuses or justifications.
I promise not to let similar cases happen again in the future. Once, again, I want to send my sincerest apologies and bow my head.'
During the investigation process, Kim Tae Woo admitted his wrongdoings and cooperated with the authorities with diligence, as he is now reflecting on his actions. We would like to apologize once more for causing worries to many people.
To ensure the same incidents won't happen again, we will do our utmost best in managing our artists more effectively. Thank you."
