Starlight Becomes Online Meme, VIXX Leo Defends Fan

A video featuring a Starlight (VIXX fan) dancing in front of Leo resurfaced, and she became an online meme unknowingly.

As a result, VIXX Leo, who actively communicates with his fans through SNS, used his personal platform to stop the ridicule his fan gets, and chose to spread positivity.

In particular, Leo apparently saw a photo showing the back of a fan who made a big heart by raising both arms above his head in front of the male idol.

In the photo, it was assumed that Leo looked confused and awkward, and netizens then posted it with the caption, "Extreme job (of) male idols."

The photo was taken from a video filmed during a VIXX fan signing even about 8 years ago, and it was only this year that the clip belatedly went viral.

Unfortunately, while a lot of fans can relate to the fan's love for the group, some suffered "secondhand-embarrassment," leading the fan to become an online meme and be mocked by internet users. Others expressed that they felt bad for Leo having to put up with the shameful and embarrassing act of the fan.

However, Leo put all these assumptions to rest and jumped to the Starlight's defense.

"I'm saying this because I think the (fan) is being ridiculed, but the power to brighten up someone's day is truly amazing. I was encouraged enough and laughed thanks to you (the fan)."

The idol also refuted that it was tough for him, rather, commended fans especially VIXX's effort to show their love and support to them.

"It is an extreme job for VIXX fans ((Starlight), so thank you. (Please continue to support us)."

Upon his posting, Starlights admired Leo even more after being the voice of the fan who received unnecessary hate and malicious comments.

VIXX To Return With 5th Mini-Album 'CONTINUUM'

Meanwhile, VIXX is scheduled to make a comeback with its fifth mini-album, "CONTINUUM," on November 21.

This will be their first official comeback with a new album after five years. Unfortunately, leader N won't be able to join them again this time due to his acting schedule, thus, the group will continue their three-member system for their album promotion.

When this was announced, Korean Starlights complained about N being an "irresponsible" leader for choosing acting over her main job as an idol, nevertheless, a lot of international fans were understanding and chose to focus their attention and energy on supporting VIXX wholeheartedly.
