Jessi Reveals She Almost Debuted in SNSD — But THIS Was Why She Didn't

For real? Jessi became a hot topic among SONEs after the idol revealed she almost joined Girls' Generation when she was a trainee under SM Entertainment.

Jessi Claims She Was Prospective SNSD Member — Here Was Why Her Debut Didn't Happen

On November 7, a recent interview with Jessi went viral among SONEs (SNSD fandom) and K-pop fans after the soloist claimed she was supposed to be a Girls' Generation member if it weren't for THIS reason.

In a snippet, the "Nunu Nana" singer revealed that prior to her solo debut, she initially trained under SM Entertainment and was preparing to be in their girl groups.

"I had been at SM (Entertainment), I would have become a member of Girls' Generation or CSJH (The Grace)."

However, Jessi, known for her honest personality without filter, explained that it was one of the reasons she didn't make it.

"But I wouldn't have fit in. If I were in CSJH (The Grace), I would have clashed with Stephanie. We went to the same school and actually clashed."

After knowing about this, K-pop fans expressed their shock and agreed that they couldn't imagine Jessi joining either of the two groups because the soloist has completely opposite images compared to SNSD and CSJH.

Others also said that it's not surprising since before becoming a rapper, Jessi was recognized for her singing prowess that could be on par with SNSD's vocalists.

Jessi Draws Backlash for Mentioning SNSD After Dissing Group & BoA in the Past

Meanwhile, some SONEs were unimpressed with Jessi mentioning it again after initially talking about it with SNSD Tiffany in 2020.

SONEs also clarified Jessi's claims by sharing what Taeyeon said about how the group was actually formed, pointing out that not everyone who trained under SM around the same time was supposed to debut in SNSD.

"I would appreciate it if people with whom we have no recollection of sweating (working hard) together unless the members' memories are falsely altered, would refrain from surprising and confounding us by using Girls' Generation's name."

Twitter Error

Some fans think that Jessi should just move on from it, especially after dissing the group and BoA in the past.

In particular, amid the topic, Jessi's past SNS post resurfaced where she unapologetically talked bad behind SNSD, calling them a "gay girl group" and "SM b*tches."

When Jessi was younger, she also dissed BoA's release "Girls on Top."
