Bang Yedam Explains Why He Left TREASURE + Relationship With Members
Bang Yedam discussed in an interview his departure from TREASURE to pursue a solo career, and how the members were able to accept his decision.

Bang Yedam Opens Up on Withdrawal From TREASURE, Solo Career
Bang Yedam, who released his first mini-album, "ONLY ONE," on November 23, sat down with the K-media for an interview to commemorate his solo debut.
The idol initially rose to stardom as the main vocalist of YG's boy group TREASURE. However, he left the group and the label in November 2022 to go solo under a new nest GF Entertainment.

At the time, he shocked the K-pop scene by leaving the group after two years and three months since his debut, a considerably short period compared to the 7 years he spent as a YG trainee.
When his departure news came out, YG mentioned that Yedam would leave to create a new environment for his production pursuit.
During the interview, the soloist explained this reason.
"I had a picture, a dream, and a vision that I had been drawing since I was a trainee. I made my debut as a team and I learned and experienced a lot in it. It was a really good experience.
However, I think I always had a musical desire to strengthen my production capabilities and to spread the inspiration I receive and the ideas I feel more freely."
At the time, there was criticism that he could still pursue a solo career while being in TREASURE and that he didn't have to leave.
Regarding this, Yedam added:
"Of course, it was fun and happy to work together (with the members of TREASURE). However, in my heart, there was a question about whether I was doing well in my nature (as an idol). I thought, 'I have to fulfill my true purpose well.' I don't think I could be 100% happy if there is that gap inside me."
Bang Yedam Shares Current Relationship With TREASURE, Feelings for TEUMEs
Pursuing his own happiness, Bang Yedam hinted that it wasn't easy as well for TREASURE.
However, he attested that they are on good terms.
"We contacted each other during the holidays, we are doing well and are on good terms. When I decided to leave, the members were surprised at first, but later on, they understood and supported my opinion."
He also apologized to TEUMEs (TREASURE fandom) and showed affection to them.
"I'm sorry to the fans because I haven't been able to communicate smoothly and I haven't been able to tell them clearly and directly. I want to satisfy your regrets with this activity.
I'm not going anywhere anymore and I'm trying to do my best. What can't we do with this and future activities?
I know the fans have been waiting for a long time. I'm back now, and I'll communicate more smoothly in the future. As a fan of a singer named Bang Yedam, I will work hard so that you can feel proud."
