On December 4, EXO Lay held his fanmeeting and music listening party in Manila for free.

At the event, Lay made memories with his fans Xbacks and EXO-Ls through interacting with them and playing his songs, which were also sung by the crowd alongside him.

However, during one of his break segments, fans were surprised with Lay's unexpected advice.

On TikTok, user @/chanbaekkaisoo uploaded the exchange, showing Lay instructing fans that they should love their jobs in order to be successful and achieve financial stability.

Lay: "I'm so serious, why do you guys laugh? You have to love your job."

Host: "We need the money, yeah."

Lay: "I think if you love your job, you will (also) love your career, you will love your boss, and then you will get more money."

In the comments, fans certainly had a good time poking fun at Lay's surprising talk about success and career. They claimed that as long as Lay's in charge of their workplace, then they won't mind the salary and will absolutely love their boss.
