Recently, speculations sparked that Joy and her boyfriend Crush already ended their two-year relationship after she allegedly unfollowed him on Instagram.

Although some clarified that this was caused by Crush suddenly deactivating his account, the rumor intensified when people claimed that this happened after the male singer un-liked all of Joy's posts and when she unfollowed him, he then deactivated his IG.

On December 3, the breakup rumor continued when fans noticed that the "Kill Chill" singer posted a photo with her co-member Wendy amid the speculations.

In the post, Joy showed affection to her co-member by staring at her lovingly. She also boasted Wendy's photography skills by adding her pictures taken by the celebrity.

But what captured fans' attention was Joy using the song, "I Fall in Love Too Easily," along with the caption, "I fall in love @/todayis_wendy."

While some would normally think her song choice was because of her caption related to Wendy, there are fans who suggested that this must have been her hinting at her breakup with Crush.

The reason was that the song was originally released by Chet Baker, an artist that her boyfriend Crush likes. In fact, he also covered the same song before.

Looking at the song's lyrics depict the proponent's regrets of falling in love too easily, which made him fooled in the past and expressed the desire to learn from this.

When these "proofs" were shared online, the couple received mixed reactions from both K-pop fans and netizens.

There are fans who expressed regrets, saying:

Prior to the breakup rumor, Crush was criticized for objectifying female idols and treating them like "trophies" when Sung Si Kyung claimed that "one can just become an artist to date idols."

Even before that, ReVeluvs (Red Velvet fandom) showed hostility to him as Joy's boyfriend due to his past racism and misogynist attitude.
