The song dominated the chart across 106 different regions around the globe, including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Germany, and many more, proving the track's increasing popularity.

"Closer Than This" also managed to go toe-to-toe with two invincible Christmas hits in the United States, namely "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey, and "Last Christmas" by Wham! in the United Kingdom.

Prior to "Closer Than This," Jimin had reigned over iTunes charts with a series of No. 1s with his previous releases. This includes songs such as Jimin's "With You," which ranked No. 1 across 119 countries, followed by "VIBE" (102), "Set Me Free Pt. 2" (113), "Like Crazy" (119) and "Angel Pt. 1" (100).

The feat led Jimin to become the first solo artist from any country to land seven separate tracks at No. 1 on the iTunes charts in at least 100 regions individually. Outside of iTunes, the song also dominated as the No. 1 digital single on Japan's Oricon daily chart.

Congratulations to Jimin for this wonderful achievement!
