THIS Girl Group Is Most Popular Among Male Idols: 'Everyone gets up to sit in the audience...'

Which girl group is so popular even male idols fell in love with them? In a radio broadcast, K-pop idol Jungmo recalled his experience of admiring this beloved female team along with other artists.

On January 5, former TRAX-turned-singer Kim Jungmo appeared in MBC FM4U's "Kim Shin Young's Hope Song at Noon."

On this day, Jung helped the radio host by introducing songs under the theme, "Girl" songs in the "Any Song TOP7" corner.

Among numerous K-pop songs, Kim Shin Young and Jungmo mentioned the latter's "Peach," "SHINee's "Dream Girl," Miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl," Rainbow's "Not Your Girl" and more.

When Kim Shin Young introduced Rainbow's "Not Your Girl," she claimed:

"This song was too advanced."

Jungmo agreed and said:

"There are songs that are unique to composer Han Sangwon and are banned from the college entrance exam. ss501's 'UR Man', Bada's 'Mad', and ZE:A's 'Mazeltov', etc. These are the hidden masterpieces of Han Sangwon, who wrote these songs.

When we were working with Rainbow, we kept listening to Rainbow's main vocalist Hyunyoung practicing this song in the waiting room next door, which was not soundproofed well. It’s a famous song that we hummed until we got home.”

In particular, the song was a response to ss501's "UR Man" which were both created by composer Han Sangwon.

Kim Shin Young also recalled:

"All the male singers came during the rehearsal. They all came and watched it. There was a saying that it was definitely a hit if Shindong took a photo with them, but then Shindong said, 'I hope they do well.'

When Rainbow first debuted, senior male singers would say, there was something like, 'Rainbow can't do well. This can't not do well.'"

While their debut with "Gossip Girl" and "Not Your Girl" didn't do that well, Rainbow finally achieved their heyday after releasing their viral belly-button dance track, "A."

Initially, there were doubts about their fame, but the team ended up becoming a girl group hugely loved not only by fans but by male artists!

Kim Shin Young claimed:

"Rainbow was the girl group that received tremendous support from male singers."

Jungmo supported this and added:

"Yes. I wondered if there was a girl group that we loved as much as Rainbow. When we have a dry rehearsal in the morning, we usually gather around 6-7 a.m. Then we all sit down in the waiting room, thinking that we are too tired.

But when Rainbow's prelude comes out, everyone gets up and sits in the audience. If you look around, we are not the only ones sitting down, but other groups are also sitting down. We smiled and said hello to each other."

In a past broadcast, both Kim Shin Young and Jungmo also agreed that if Rainbow debuted in the current K-pop generation, it is apparent that they would truly dominate the music scene.

Celeb Five's Leader Kim, exclaimed:

"There were a lot of girl groups I was with at that time, including Wonder Girls, Girls' Generation, and 2NE1, but Rainbow was the most popular in the music industry at the time. They had a lot of talent. What I can say for sure is that there is no group as nice as Rainbow."
