Flashback: BLACKPINK Lisa's Crazy Horse Performance Draws Backlash

Back in September 2023, Lisa shocked the world when it was announced she would be performing a three-day show at Crazy Horse Paris. The cabaret show is famous for having nude female dancers.

Though Lisa was not nude for her shows, attendees did say the idol stripped some of her clothing off.

The scandalous show earned the idol major backlash. She was previously known for her cute image as BLACKPINK's maknae. In particular, Lisa was criticized by fans in South Korea, China, and even Thailand. Despite the show having taken place months ago, many have still not gotten over her Crazy Horse performances.

Though the backlash was loud, Lisa never once brought up the hate. Instead, she freely shared photos from her performance at Crazy Horse. Since then, the idol has spent prolonged periods, often spotted hanging out with her rumored boyfriend, Frédéric Arnault.

Before entering 2024, YG Entertainment confirmed that all four BLACKPINK members re-signed with the company for group activities but did not sign contracts for their individual schedules. With that, the girl group's comeback date is probably in the far future, as all the members are embarking on their own projects.

BLACKPINK Lisa's Speculated To Have Responded to Hate Comments During Interview With Elle Taiwan

Amidst news of BLACKPINK's contract re-signing, anti-fans have not rested. Instead, they continued to spread baseless rumors about Lisa, even going so far as to say she was pregnant or engaged.

Lisa recently graced the cover of Elle Taiwan's January 2024 issue. The idol's interview with the publication is going viral, as many believe the idol subtly responded to the harsh hate comments she is receiving.

She told the publication,

"Believe in yourself. I hope everyone does not get swayed by other people's opinions or comments. Believe in yourself and do not let others knock you down. Sometimes I get affected too because of what other people say, but I believe the most important thing is your own happiness. If you are doing what you love, you will feel very happy."

Though it may appear as simple words of self-encouragement, people seem to believe this is Lisa's way of stating she has no regrets over her bold decisions, even if they caused the public to turn on her. In the end, Lisa always keeps a calm and positive outlook on life.

On social media, Lisa often shares photos of herself enjoying a luxurious life during her free time, showing she does not need to dwell on hateful comments. During her interview with Elle Taiwan, she expressed her desire to focus on her family and herself. She also wants to learn French.
