Top 10 K-pop Boy Groups of January 2023 — THIS 3rd-Gen Act Dethroned BTS' 5-Year Record!
K-pop is just starting this 2024, and many groups have trended already. To measure their popularity, the Korean Business Research Institute officially released its first brand reputation rankings in 2024 involving K-pop male groups.
The list, which was derived from data gathered from December 13, 2023, to January 13, 2024, contained notable acts from the Korean music industry.
Here are the 10 most popular K-pop boy groups in January 2023!
1. SEVENTEEN
For the month of January, the artist who claimed the top spot for boy group brand rankings was none other than SEVENTEEN.
The group made it to the top by garnering a brand reputation index of 6,157,072, which broke BTS's long-standing streak in the top spot for five and a half years. SEVENTEEN also made buzz in the K-pop community with their achievements and appearances in year-end shows.
2. NCT
The No. 2 spot was claimed by NCT, who received a brand reputation index of 4,064,501 for January.
3. BTS
BTS completed the Top 3, with the septet making rounds in the list with a brand reputation index of 3,677,975. BTS's inclusion on the top three says a lot about their impact due to their group presence having consistency despite all members being in the military.
4. RIIZE
RIIZE followed closely with a brand reputation index of 3,487,644. Despite being new, SM Entertainment's fifth-gen representative is continuously establishing themselves as one of K-pop's newest leaders.
5. ZEROBASEONE
The fifth place was occupied by another fifth-gen leader ZEROBASEONE, who garnered a brand reputation index of 3,188,626.
6. THE BOYZ
With a brand reputation index of 3,047,935, THE BOYZ managed to secure the No. 6 spot for January 2024.
7. Stray Kids
Stray Kids received a brand reputation index of 2,980,656, which placed them in seventh place.
8. EXO
"Nation's Pick" EXO successfully joined the Top 10 by claiming eighth place. The list revealed that EXO had gathered an impressive brand reputation index of 2,715,879.
9. SHINee
SHINee made it on the No. 9 spot after seeing a brand reputation index of 2,177,975.
10. ASTRO
Lastly, ASTRO received a brand reputation index of 1,953,538. This led the group to round the top 10 for January 2024's boy group brand rankings.
