They are promoting on music shows, attending different events, and holding fan signs and fan events. Recently, Hyunjae's actions during an outdoor fan meeting have drawn backlash.

THE BOYZ Hyunjae Under Fire for Rude Behavior During Fan Meet

On March 23, 2024, a post titled "Hyunjae really turned me off during THE BOYZ's fan meeting" was published on a well-known South Korean online community forum. The original poster (OP) shared two anecdotes from different users recounting their unpleasant experiences during the event.

One fan claimed they were determined to leave the fandom following the event. According to them, all the members looked "out of it," and the mood was not good. However, Hyunjae was the member that drew the most backlash, as he repeatedly complained over the fans' lack of reactions.

They stated that they were not forcing them to attend and joked that they would leave early due to the lack of responses. Meanwhile, the other members remained sweet, sympathizing with how tired and cold the fans must have been. For reference, the event was outdoors, it was windy, and the temperature was below 0 degrees Celsius.

Another fan recounted a similar experience, saying Hyunjae was criticizing fans for not reacting and saying, "It's not like we are forcing you guys to be here" and that they would leave earlier. A fan was reportedly heard asking why he was talking like that.

Footage of the event was shared online, where Hyunjae can be heard criticizing the fans. He is also seen looking at their leader, Sangyeon, oddly when he asked the fans to go eat if they were tired and that they would do the fan meet again another time.

Korean Netizens React to THE BOYZ Hyunjae's 'Rude' Behavior During Fan Meeting

Korean netizens took to the comments to slam Hyunjae for his attitude.

Many slammed the idol for his ungrateful behavior, with people noting that if a more popular celebrity said the same thing, it would have been a huge issue. However, since he is from a smaller group, they believe Hyunjae is more confident speaking without a filter since it will likely be buried.

Others stated that his personality was not good and that the fans should stop supporting him.

Some comments read,

"The way Hyunjae asked who told them to come must have been such a reality slap."

"Idols should be grateful that they have fans who travel all the way to see them, spend money on them, and spend their time in the freezing cold, just to support them. My previous bias was like him, and I left the fandom."
