Kim Kardashian Baby Name, Preeclampsia Health Scare: UPDATE

Kim Kardashian's baby name still hasn't emerged, but delivery room details have. The baby of Kim Kardashian may have been delivered early because of preeclampsia, a medical condition marked by swelling and high blood pressure.

Preeclampsia can lead to an early delivery, and Kardashian delivered Baby Kimye almost a month early. The condition can effect both mother and child, and early labor is one major symptom of preeclampsia.

Kardashian, 32, Tweeted photos of her "pregnancy lips" and swollen feet weeks ago-and they may have been swollen due to preeclampsia.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles because of complications with her pregnancy. She gave birth to the as-yet-unnamed Baby Kimye with Kanye West, the baby's dad, by her side. The baby was born about three weeks early.

"The condition can cause complications for other organs," Dr. Natalie K. Stevens, who is unaffiliated with Kardashian's case,  told press.

"Women could have headaches, abdominal pain, issues with vision, among other things."

Thus, Kim's weight gain and swollen features may have been due to preeclampsia.

"To treat it means we may have to deliver the baby early," Stevens added. Kardashian gave birth naturally, but early. The baby weighed under five pounds and is incubated. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still at the hospital with their new baby.

Name speculation abounds for Baby Kimye. All that is confirmed is that it will likely start with a K.  One report said that the baby is named Kaidence Donda...another said the Kardashian-West baby is named North, making her name North West.

"She's already smiling," a source close to the Kardashian family told press "She's the prettiest, tiniest thing with a full head of straight, dark hair, a cute little nose and Kim's lips."
