ILLIT Wonhee Earns Mixed Reactions for Dance Skills: 'She Needs To Practice More...'

ILLIT member Wonhee is drawing mixed reactions for her dance skills in a trending clip.

Those who watched "R U NEXT?" are aware that out of all the ILLIT members, Wonhee had the shortest training period. The female idol was cast on the streets and trained for a week before deciding to compete on the survival show. By the time the show started airing, she had only been a trainee for two months.

After securing her spot in the debut line-up, Wonhee is now drawing divided responses for her dancing.

They criticized the idol's dance skills, saying the way she moves and her hips and legs "look so heavy." The OP then urged the idol to take more dance practice.

Many defended the idol, saying that, compared to the other members, she has less experience dancing. Despite that, she has grown immensely since her time on "R U NEXT?" and is able to keep up with the other girls when performing their own songs.

It was also noted that she isn't dancing her own group's dance, and she had to learn a portion of another group's choreography for a show. They praised her effort and stated that the only thing that was important was that she could dance to ILLIT's dances.

However, some slammed Wonhee for being a good dancer. They recalled that during "R U NEXT?" there were several moments where Wonhee failed, even simple stemps. In one of the performances, she was part of having the girls sit on chairs as part of the choreography. However, Wonhee was unable to sit on the chair properly during the performance, which massively harmed the team.

Some comments read,

  • "Yeah, she is not a good dancer."
  • "Who cares as long as she dances her group's choreography well? ILLIT only had to cover the dance for a bit, so do you expect her to be fully familiar with it and dance flawlessly? As long as she is good at her own group's dance, that should be alright. Looking at ILLIT's performance, they all seem pretty good at dancing."
  • "Wonhee was cast on the streets, trained for a week, and then came on 'R U NEXT?'. She didn't know how to dance at all and was a total outsider. Seeing how she dances now, you can see how much effort she put in."
  • "It's not even ILLIT's dance, but she still learned the dance for a variety show. Meanwhile, trolls are making GIFs of her. You have to admit being a female idol is an extreme job."
  • "Wasn't Wonhee part of a performance where she had to sit on a chair during the survival show, but she repeatedly couldn't sit on the charm and harmed her team because of that?"
