Source Music has declared a firm stance against the mounting wave of malicious online content directed at girl group Le Sserafim, announcing it would take legal actions to combat defamatory posts and false information.
The agency issued its warning on November 14 through an official statement released on the Weverse fan community platform.
The agency confirmed that it has identified a recent sharp increase in harmful online posts targeting the girl group and its individual members. These posts include hateful criticism, personal insults, mockery, and the deliberate spreading of false information that violates the artists' personal rights. Source Music operates a real-time monitoring system dedicated to detecting such content, alongside HYBE's unified artist rights violation reporting channel, through which the surge has been documented.
The agency emphasized that individuals engaging in defamatory behavior cannot escape legal responsibility through anonymity. It stated that posts and comments written anonymously remain subject to criminal penalties, and those responsible for creating such malicious content continue to face enforcement action. The label revealed that criminal penalties have already been imposed on numerous offenders as a result of ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.
The agency stressed that presenting unverified claims or rumors as factual statements constitutes a clear violation of an artist's personal rights and a criminal offense under the law. Acts involving insults and defamation directed at artists are punishable under Korean law, and Source Music has reiterated its commitment to taking legal action against all identified violations across online communities and digital platforms.
Source Music reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy, stating it will pursue criminal charges without settlement or leniency. The agency pledged to take both regular and ad hoc legal actions against malicious posts while actively cooperating with authorities by providing evidence of damages suffered by the artists and submitting relevant documentation to ensure appropriate punishment for offenders.
The statement also expressed gratitude to FEARNOT, Le Sserafim's fan community, for their role in reporting harmful content. The agency acknowledged that fan reports submitted through HYBE's reporting site significantly support protective efforts and strengthen legal responses. Source Music indicated that it will continue implementing every available measure to safeguard the artists' rights and maintain the integrity of the group against ongoing attacks.
