Kim Yerim, 'I'd Like to Establish Sexy of My Own'

Kim Yerim, who released her first mini album on June 17 as a solo artist, has risen above the competition and is contending against Sistar's "Give It To Me" and Lee Seung Chul's "My Love" on major music shows.

Highlighting her unique vocals seems to have contributed the most to her sudden rise to stardom, according to industry associates as well as the artist herself.

"I focused on getting my real voice on record the most during album preparations," said Kim Yerim.

Another driving force for her success was a great synergistic effect with producer Yoon Jong Shin. Her title song, "All Right," was written and composed by the man who is often mistaken by young viewers as a comedian because of his weekly appearance on talk shows as a host.

Kim Yerim is a member of male-female duo Two Months. But due to Do Dae Yoon's extended stay in the United States for academic reasons, she ended up coming back as a solo artist.

"When he comes back after school is done with, we will come back as Two Months once again. We are thinking sometime next year. It's a lot more pressure to go on stage alone, rather than with a partner," Kim Yerim said.

About her new 'sexy' look, she said, "I hope to present 'sexy' with a certain uniqueness."

"I hope that a lot of people will listen to my songs. I really put in a good work and am happy about what came out of it. What is left is for people to enjoy the songs," said the up-and-coming female artist.
