France Covers Flood of K-Pop on “Seven to Eight”

Last Sunday night, host Harry Roselmack presented a special segment on his show "Seven to Eight" that showcased the popularity of K-Pop in France.

After so many setbacks since September due to favoring in more international news, the story of K-Pop's popularity in Europe finally got out. The show aired on France's national TV channel TF1, following the K-Pop group Super Junior on their tour in France. This report is only the third one that covered the K-Pop industry at a public French station. Other channels like France 2 or M6 have only covered K-pop by following the fans.  Yet, this may be the first time that a channel has covered this through the eyes of a band.

The story gets inside to the world of K-Pop with some feedback from French fans, including some residing in Seoul. Ever since this growing popularity of the genre, people from all over the world has considered going to Korea as a travel destination.

The broadcast followed Super Junior on their Paris tour through their practice sessions and their performance on stage. It was only last June when a K-Pop concert sold 13,000 seats which normally gets sold out.

We may even see this craze spread across the U.S. when bands like the Wonder Girls start making appearances on U.S. TV stations. With this growing awareness of K-Pop, its only a matter of time until we know if this music will stay with us after a few years.
