While Infinity Ward is planning the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, an honest mistake by Sledgehammer Games employee Robert Valdivia may have confirmed Activision's next project-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

"Hello, my name is Robert Valdivia and I am a Senior VFX Artist from Los Angeles but currently residing in the San Francisco bay area," says Valdivia's LinkedIn profile.

"I work at Sledgehammer Games where I'm responsible for developing photo real visual effects for the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare release."

Oops.

This seems to confirm earlier reports by VG24/7 that Sledgehammer Games is not involved in Call of Duty: Ghosts, but is still developing a Call of Duty game.

Does this mean that following Ghosts, Modern Warfare 4 will follow?

Sledgehammer certainly seems fully underway with its next project, as shown by their official Twitter.

While the LinkedIn profile information has since been taken down, fans are hopeful for the long-awaited sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
