New gossip on the set of "50 Shades of Grey" casting , but it still doesn't have a cast. The latest rumors surrounding "50 Shades of Grey" is that "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder will not be playing the role of Christian Grey. A source is also saying that Garrett Hedlund turned down the coveted role.

Us Weekly said an insider spilled that Ian Somerhalder had expressed an interest in putting on the very expensive shoes of Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey." The "Vampire Diaries" star had a stake put in the heart of those aspiractions when E.L. James told some people at a party at Comic Con that Somerhalder won't be landing the role. Fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have been saying for months that Somerhalder was a frontrunner for the kinky entrepreneur. The "Fifty Shades of Grey" Twitter fan page put a picture up in February of Somerhalder in a mask with a line from the book as a caption, "All I can see of his face is his beautiful chiseled mouth and strong jaw." E.L. James responded by tweeting a smiley face.

Somerhalder told Metro Online a few weeks age that "One can never get bored of people asking about a huge project." 

The source told Us Weekly that Kirsten Dunst's boyfriend. Garrett Hedlund, who starred in "On the Road" turned down the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie.

"50 Shades Of Grey" movie cast rumors continue to heat up as some of the fan favorites are no longer in the running. There is a lot of speculation as to who will play the leads in "Fifty Shades of Grey," the movie version of the exotic novel by E.L. James. "Fifty Shades of Grey" has already set a release date and Sam Taylor Johnson will be sitting in the director's chair, but a cast hasn't been finalized.
