What K-Pop Songs Will Be Remembered In 10 Years?

In a recent interview with TV Daily, Korean actress and K-Pop 'Techno Queen' Lee Jung Hyun shared her thoughts on the new generation of idols and the music being produced in Korea as of late.

"With the current state of the music industry, there will be no song for us to feel nostalgic over in ten years," she contended.

Her statement has since started a dialogue among Korean netizens and international K-Pop fans alike, all trying to rack their brains trying to find a song released in the last year or so that they think will be remembered a decade later.

While there have been a lot of tremendously popular songs released so far this year, we are wondering which ones, if any, have the lasting power to still make us rock out after we have aged.

Will you still be bouncing around to G-Dragon's "Crayon" in your thirties? Do you think Crayon Pop's "Bar Bar Bar" have you jumping up and down in a helmet when you are pushing 40? Can you imagine howling along with EXO's "Wolf" while driving your children to school in the morning?

There are, however, a couple of songs that come to mind which might bring back memories of today when we have all gotten older.

"Gangnam Style" is the most obvious.

The song, and Psy himself, have been credited with bringing K-Pop to the international mainstream in the past year. The song and accompanying music video still have the ability to get even the most reserved folks on their feet doing the horse dance.

It is a trend that is likely to continue in the future mostly because it is incredibly silly and for a lot of people, it was their first introduction to K-Pop.

Korean netizens have also mentioned Busker Busker's "Cherry Blossom Ending" as a song with definite lasting power because it varies greatly from the vast majority of other K-Pop songs released in the last year or so.

Even though "Cherry Blossom Ending" was released in April of 2012, a year later it rose to the top of the music charts as the anthem of spring suggesting that Busker Busker is a group we all will remember years down the line.
