There are a handful of female K-pop idols roaming around the Korean hemisphere that are, what I like to call, "untouchables." This simply means they are irreplaceable, the best of the best, the only one of their kind, the trendsetters, the movers and shakers. Let's take a look at 5 female veterans to rookie who have made and are making a name for themselves in the industry.

BoA will always be known as the first female solo artist who did it all. She single-handedly conquered Japan and was the first Korean artist to ever make her face, name, and music a staple in Japanese entertainment. Not only beloved in Japan, but BoA is highly respected in Korea where she is known for her dedication, ambition, hard work, and professionalism. A great dancer, a good singer, and a Hallyu star, BoA is an untouchable female idol in the K-pop scene. No one has been able to mimic or come close to the success she has seen over the years.

She started out in one of the most popular girl groups of all time, F.I.N.K.L, but Lee Hyori always had the chops to make it on her own. Her drop dead gorgeous, yet girl-next-door-looks, made her the most popular member amongst her fellow lady buddies and scored huge as a solo star. To this day, the 30-something year old, reigns as the sexiest Queen to ever reign in K-pop. She still releases music and it still shoots to the top of the charts. After the veterans, come the rookies, and there aren't, in my personal opinion, many who people will remember 15-20 years from now. To start the rookie list off, I'm going to count all 9 ladies of SNSD as 1. Undoubtedly, the biggest girl group to ever hit the Korean pop industry, SNSD has proven themselves over and over again why they are the group to beat. There hasn't been a single girl group for the last few years who have matched up to their success. If the Wonder Girls stayed around, they could've been bigger than the 9 powerhouses, but they didn't, making SNSD the most untouchable ladies around.

2NE1's CL is the face of YG's insanely successful girl group. Without CL, there is no 2NE1 and the talented rapper and singer has made quite the name for herself in the industry. Not only known as an artist, but she is chummy with some of the top fashionistas of the world. No one has the swag, stage charisma, look, voice, or fashion like CL and she is one that will always be remembered in the books.

Who knew the sweet, young, baby-face one in miss A would blow up to be the hugest star in the Korean industry today? Suzy Bae has made her mark in both the K-drama and K-pop industry with her likeable personality, charm, talents, and beauty. She is currently JY Park's secret weapon and the only one who has had this much commercial success in such a short period of time. And to think this is only the beginning for the young starlet! Suzy's got a huge and load road ahead of her and definitely marks our 5th untouchable female idol today!
