JYJ Yoochun Prepares For Big Screen Debut In 'The Sea Fog'

JYJ member Yoochun has confirmed he will be making his movie debut soon.

On August 20, it was announced that pop singer turned popular drama actor Park Yoochun has been cast in an upcoming film about fishermen.

The new movie, tentatively titled The Sea Fog, is based on a famous play of the same name. It follows the story of a group of fishermen trying to survive as their ship roams around the open sea in a very thick fog.

Yoochun will play the role crew member Dongsik, a sailor at odds with the ship captain played by Kim Yoon Seok.

The Sea Fog will be produced by highly acclaimed Korean director Bong Joon Ho, who gained notoriety with the film Snowpiercer.

Filming is scheduled to start some time in October, according to a representative from Yoochun's agency C-JeS Entertainment.

While the role in The Sea Fog marks the JYJ singer's big screen debut, he is no stranger to acting.

Yoochun previously gained international attention for the popular 2012 SBS drama Rooftop Prince and the 2010 KBS period romantic comedy Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Most recently he appeared in MBC's I Miss You.

He also has nearly two dozen acting awards under his belt for his various drama roles.

The Sea Fog is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
