Dissecting YG Entertainment's New Male Group "Winner": Team A Members
By Staff Writer | August 22, 2013 01:44 AM EDT
YG Entertainment's new male group is coming and YG fans, girls, and boys alike don't know how to prepare for their arrival. Why does this feel like we might be on the verge of the next big thing? Simple. YG's only all male group is Big Bang and they are five of the biggest names in K-pop. For starters, it's never been Yang Hyun Seok's style to do a reality show and have audiences pick which group should debut. Secondly, Yang Hyun Seok teased that he'd be debuting a girl group, so imagine our surprise when it turned out to be a boy group instead of a girls! YG Entertainment help a press conference to promote and discuss their upcoming survival show called "WIN: Who Is Next" which will premiere August 23 on Mnet.

The show will air 10 episodes where two teams, team "A" and team "B", will go up against each other in a battle to see which group will win over the hearts of voters. Whichever team wins, that group will debut after the show wraps. Talk about pressure! I can't imagine how stressed out these guys must be!
Team "A" consists of 5 members. Member Kang Seungyoon holds the vocal position and reigns from Busan South Korea. He was born in 1994, making him a 19 in America and 20 in Korea. Yang Hyun Seok has had nothing but praises for the singer who he thinks, "was born to be a celebrity." The twist regarding Kang Seungyoon? He's been training to be a solo singer and even has a solo debut date confirmed. But while he's been vigorously training for a solo debut, he's also been hardcore training with his group for the last 3 years. If team "A" wins, Kang Seung Yoon will be handling both solo and group activities. Looks like the superstar in this team has already been named.
Another member of team "A" is "K-pop Star" contestant Lee Seung Hoon. He was a season 1 contestant along with YG singer Lee Hi and been working hard to improve his rapping skills. Yang Hyun Seok has said said this about Lee Seung Hoon:
"He has skills in leadership and is great at coming up with choreography. He is currently focusing on improving his rap skills."
The YG boss went on to say that the boys have done nothing but work, work, work, and train all day and night for their debut on the survival show. Other members of team "A" are Song Min Ho who has been dubbed the supposed leader of the group. He was born in 1993 and is a rapper in the group. Fellow member Nam Tae Hyun was born in 1994 and is a vocalist of the group, followed by Kim Jin Woo, the oldest of the group.
