Windows Phone Free Apps: Instagram To Be Available On Windows Phone OS Soon, No Exact Date Released Yet

In the past few years, the Windows Phone mobile platform's story has changed from miserable to hopeful. Recent increase in sales in emerging markets which include South America and China has made the partnership with Nokia even stronger. But they are still far from being a serious contender in the iOS/Android duel.

However, that gap continues to narrow as Nokia finally gets Instagram as a third party developer. In an announcement made by the Finnish manufacturer's executive vice president Chris Weber, the world-renowned photo sharing app is now coming to the Windows Mobile platform.

Still, there was no exact date when the application will officially arrive in the Windows app store.

Aside from Instagram, some of the third-party apps which Nokia continues to pursue include Google Maps, Vine, Pinterest, YouTube, and Flipboard. But now that Instagram has decided to support Nokia and Microsoft, other reputable apps might also head to the Windows mobile OS in the coming months.

Next month, Nokia is set to unveil brand new handsets to take on the respective releases of Samsung and Apple, as well as other competitors HTC and Sony. In order to do better than previous releases, they have to get developers and companies to back them up.
