YG ‘WIN’ – 3 Reasons Why You Should Watch the Show

On August 23, YG Entertainment aired its first episode of "Who Is Next: WIN."

"WIN" is a reality survival program in which 11 YG trainees are divided into 2 teams and go head to head in a fierce battle against each other. The winning team will then debut at the show's conclusion with the name "WINNER."

On August 20, there was a press conference for "WIN," at which YG's Yang Hyun Suk explained the program's plans and introduced the 11 contestants for the first time. Following the press conference, the search terms "WIN Team A" and "WIN Team B" quickly became the top 2 searches on portal sites. The public's interest is undeniable, and we think we know 3 reasons why.

1. YG's next boy group will be chosen through "WIN"

"WIN" will determine the next boy group to debut from YG following Big Bang's start 8 years ago. In a teaser video that was recently released, Park Jin Young, Yoon Jong Shin, Psy, Big Bang, and 2NE1 showed interest in the survival battle format of the show. Yoon Jong Shin said, "YG is known to be very careful in choosing rookies or teams to debut, and I think this survival type format will help trainees to become competitive early on, and eventually lead to a stronger debut for the winners."

Yang Hyun Suk said, "I want this group to be not only a nationwide star, but a popular worldwide star." One can only look forward to who will be the next group to make it big like Big Bang.

2. One roof. Two Teams. One Winner. 100% Real Project.

Unlike other audition programs, "WIN" will feature contestants that are both from YG. The 2 teams from the same agency will go head to head in a battle to win the public's heart. The winning team will be 100% decided by the viewers.

The first episode of "WIN" will reveal how the trainees felt when they first found out they would be battling against each other. Viewers will have the opportunity to participate in judging even before the artist's debut. "WIN" will feature a total of 3 battles in a span of 10 weeks, and voting will be made available through online, mobile, and live texting services.

3. A massive variety of unique characters

"WIN" will feature a variety of unique characters, from Mnet "Superstar K2" contestant Kang Seung Yoon to SBS "Kpop Star" contestant Lee Seung Hoon. Each person has a personal story and unique character, and will easily keep the viewers entertained as they learn more about each contestant.

Kang Seung Yoon, who went from audition star to trainee, as well as MC Mong "Indian Boy's" 14 year old child rapper and Team B leader B.I, YG's oldest trainee Kim Jin Woowho left his hometown to pursue his dream , and more will compete to become the ultimate winner.
