The Expendables 3 cast list has been revealed and it makes followers excited as some high-profile names join the already-star-studded film. 

The third installment of the series now includes Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, and Harrison Ford; as well as Kellan Lutz, mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey, professional boxer Victor Ortiz, and Glen Powell. 

The new cast members will be joining the other actors who were part of the first two movies, namely:  Sylvester Stallone who reprises his role as Barney Ross, the leader of The Expendables; Jason Statham; Jet Li; Dolph Lundgren; Randy Couture; Terry Crews; and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Quoting the plot summary included in the press release by Lionsgate and Millennium Films, and posted in collider.com:

In "The Expendables 3," Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet. 

While the previous two films received mixed reviews from critics, they were generally well-received by the viewing public, with Expendable 1 gaining worldwide revenue of $274,470,394 out an $80 million budget; and Expendables 2 garnering $312,573,423 for a $100 million budget.

Stallone and The Expendables 3 cast members are currently filming in an old shipyard in Varna in Bulgaria.  The film is set to be released on August 15, 2014.
