Dal Shabet member Ahyoung has made quite the name for herself recently as more than just an idol singer.

The announcement on September 10 that confirmed her casting in her second feature film '58 - The Year of the Dog, certainly came as no big surprise after she won critical acclaim for her movie role in No Breathing and a couple television dramas earlier this year including KBS2's Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek.

For her new role, Ahyoung will take on the character of Geum Hong, the girlfriend of poet Lee Sang. The film is based on the real-life story of director Kim Tae Young and has been categorized as a romantic-fantasy film.

About her upcoming movie Ahyoung expressed, "I feel extremely honored and joyful to star in a film which features aspects of director Kim Tae Young's life."

Ahyoung explained to her fans how she is preparing herself for the transformation into the main character's love interest, "I feel a sense of responsibility for my role as Geum Hong since it is based on a real-life character. I am working hard to study the history whenever I have free time. I ask for your love and support."

Filming for '58 - The Year of the Dog is scheduled to begin later this month and the movie is expected to be released next year.
