Lee Min Ho 'Highly Considering' Lead Role In Upcoming Action-Noir Flick 'Gangnam Blues'

Korean heartthrob Lee Min Ho is currently filming his latest drama The Heirs, but it seems a new movie role might not be far off.

According to a representative from Starhaus Entertainment, the agency that represents the talented young actor, Lee Min Ho is currently considering an offer to appear as the lead character in an upcoming 'gangster noir' film, tentatively titled Gangnam Blues.

The film, set in the affluent Gangnam area of Seoul in the 1970's, where politics and organized crime butt heads as they try to gain control of the influential neighborhood.

The movie centers around an outlaw who, in turn, becomes involved in politics.

Lee Min Ho is not the only famous name connected to the new movie. Gangnam Blues will be directed by the highly acclaimed director Yu Ha who has gained significant attention since the release of his third movie, Once Upon a Time in High School.

Initially the lead role in Gangnam Blues was offered to top actor Hyun Bin, but he ultimately turned the role down, leaving things open for Lee Min Ho to (hopefully) step in.

Previously, Lee Min Ho has taken on roles in several hit TV dramas including Boys Over Flowers, City Hunter, and Faith. He is also no stranger to the big screen, having previously appeared in the movies Our School's ET and Public Enemy Returns.

Filming for Gangnam Blues is scheduled to begin in March 2014 and if Lee Min Ho accepts the title role, fans can expect to see him in theaters once again late next year.
