Siri Voice Revealed As Woman Who Was First ATM Voice: Susan Bennett Recorded With Apple In 2005, Didn't Find Out She Was The Voice Until Friend Called Her And Said Is This You?

Siri voice revealed to be woman that has been doing voiceovers since the 1970s and now, Susan Bennett is the voice behind the voice that has become attached with the iPhones.

Susan Bennett's first gig ended up being of the first ATM Machine, Tilly the all-time teller. Over 30 years later, she has been revealed to be the voice of Siri, which has become a well-known app in the world of Apple.

Apparently Bennett didn't even know she was the voice of Siri at first. She was brought in for recordings in 2005, just to find out six years later that her words were finally being used.

"The first time I actually heard my voice as Siri was when my friend emailed me and said, 'Isn't this you?' Bennett told CNN. "And because I didn't have the newest version of the iPhone, I went to the Apple site and that's where I heard the voice, and I just went, 'Ohh, hmm. That is me.'"

Now, she has become one of the most famous voices in the world, though now anyone from the iPhone 4s and on can put a face and name to Siri.

"The Siri voices were recorded in 2005, in the month of July, four hours a day for the whole month," Bennett told CNN. "When I recorded those voices, I had absolutely no idea where they would end up."

Some people use Siri for different reasons like to find a store, scores, directions and more. Bennett has done her shares of GPS, but she explained why Siri might get fussy at times.

"There are some people that just can read hour upon hour upon hour, and it's not a problem," Bennett said. "For me, I get extremely bored ... So I just take breaks. That's one of the reasons why Siri might sometimes sound like she has a bit of an attitude. Those sounds might have been recorded the last 15 minutes of those four hours."
