Super Junior’s Kangin to Star in ‘The Cat Funeral’

Super Junior's Kangin is making a comeback to the big screen after a 5 year hiatus.

Kangin has been confirmed for the lead role of indie musician Dong Hoon in the upcoming movie "The Cat Funeral" (directed by Lee Jong Hoon, produced by Octopus Pictures).

"The Cat Funeral" is a romantic, healing film adaptation movie of a webtoon with the same name. It is the story of meeting up with an ex-lover to have a funeral for the cat they raised together. The ex-lovers meet for the first time in 1 year after their break-up.

The staff commented, "The male lead Dong Hoon is a character that requires delicate emotional acting, playing the guitar, and even singing skills. Kangin's pure and sad gaze is what gave us the confidence to cast him in the role.

Kangin has experience acting in movies, and has starred in the 2007 film "Attack on the Pin-Up Boys" and in the 2008 Film "Hello, Schoolgirl."

"The Cat Funeral" will go into filming sometime mid-November, and is scheduled for release early next year.
