The 2013 MelOn Music Awards has finally come to a close. But while we celebrate with the winners and await the next awards ceremony (which isn't that far; MAMA is just a few days away) let's take a look back at some of the trendy fashion pieces we saw at the MelOn Music Awards which we can easily sport on our next OOTDs.

PEPLUM SKIRT/TOP

I think it's common knowledge what singer Ailee has been through in the past week. But my, she still looked as gorgeous as ever. Despite all my feels for Ailee as she accepted her award as one of the Best Artists of 2013, I couldn't help but look at her leather (faux? Not sure) ensemble.

The peplum design is one of this year's closet essentials. You can get Ailee's look by simply matching a fitting top with a peplum skirt or have it the other way around by sporting a peplum top and pairing it with a bandage skirt. Ailee also makes good use of chunky accessories, and black always looks good when paired with gold.

SKATER SKIRTS

Contrary to its name, you don't necessarily have to be a skater girl to rock a skater skirt. We saw two outfits wearing skater skirts that night-SISTAR and f(x)'s Luna.

During SISTAR's performance, the members were all wearing black skater skirts made of leather-like material similar to that of Ailee's peplum number. Luna's, however, looked like a one-piece dressed with a skater skirt bottom.

Skater skirts are very versatile clothes and you can pair it with a polo if you're going for a more sophisticated look, or pair it with a mustang tank if you're going for a bit of edginess. Skater skirts are both girly and sporty so it'll definitely fit whatever lifestyle you live.

PLAIDS

Looks like celebs couldn't get enough of the plaid pattern. EXO, SHINee, and Luna sported different designs of plaid clothing. The thing with plaids is that it's a really creative pattern without having to go overboard or become too difficult to pair with something else. Plaids also give a sort of youthful vibe as it often reminds us of high school uniforms. Don't you think?

HUGE COATS

Alas! Fall has finally come to embrace us! And what better way to welcome to cold season by parading in a huge by unique coat? Take it from SHINee and Ailee who are sporting trench coats of all shapes and designs. Coats don't require a lot of fuss when it comes to styling so it's definitely a go-to outfit for when you want to go for a walk around the park in the freezing weather.
