Minecraft Pocket Edition Beta: Mojang Launches Android Test Program For The Open-World Sandbox Game; Available To Those Who Bought The App Through Google Play

Today, Mojang launched the Minecraft Pocket Edition Beta program for Android.

According to a blog post on Mojang.com, those who purchased the game through Google Play can access the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta program for Android devices.

With the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta, gamers will be help with testing and give feedback about new features in future versions of game.

Gamers who are interested to participate on the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta program for Android can visit this Google+ link  and follow the instructions posted on the site.

Whether the gamer joins in the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta program for Android or not, the app will still be updated with the final version of the game.

Since it is a beta program, there is a possibility that things might go wrong such as issues on saving the game or more. Thus, the Mojang post about the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta program notes, "While playing a beta release, it will not be compatible with current version of Pocket Edition. If you go from a beta version back to a final version, the world may be corrupted. Beta version worlds will always work with the final release."

The Minecraft Pocket Edition team is also hoping to release the 0.8.0 version of the game before Christmas arrives.

Furthermore, there is also a note from the dev team that they may need to limit the number of testers participating on the Minecraft Pocket Edition beta program for Android.

Minecraft Pocket Edition is the mobile version of the enormously popular open-world sandbox game "Minecraft", which is created by indie game developer, Mojang. The game was initially launched for Xperia Play on Google Play on August 2011. Later, it was released for other Android devices. And Afterwards, the Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOS devices followed and made available on Apple App Store. Furthermore, Minecraft PE was also released on Amazon Appstore.
