Nexus 8 release date, rumors: With the release of the Nexus 5 and the expected launch of the Nexus 10, many are expecting Google to refresh the Nexus tablet line with an addition of the Nexus 8. According to speculations, true to its name, the rumored device would be an 8-inch tablet, but would carry the new Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Gotta Be Mobile reported that a mysterious 8-inch tablet surfaced in Google’s website recently and there have been some rumors that LG filed at the FCC bout an LG-made Nexus 8 slate.

It is important to note that LG has been Google’s manufacturer of choice for the Nexus 5 and that the South Korean tech giant released an 8.3-inch tablet that mimic the looked of it’s flagship handset LG G 2.

The LG G Pad 8.3 runs on Android 4.2.2 and has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a multi-touch display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. It has 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage with a microSD that will allow it to expand to 64GB.

There is still no solid ground or any realistic leaks, however, about the possible birth of a new Nexus tablet, except the release date many are expecting about the Nexus 10.2. Rumors of its pending release has been fodder in the tech world’s rumor mill.

The Nexus 10.2 is expected to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 5 megapixel camera and full 2560 x 1600 p HD display.
