‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast: Brad Pitt, Mark Wahlberg Were Going To Play Christian Grey? Producer Jokes They Fit The Character

Was the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast almost blessed with Brad Pitt or Mark Wahlberg? The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie producer joked that Mark Wahlberg fits the description of Christian Grey, though Mark Wahlberg thinks that Brad Pitt would have been a better fit to play Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

At the Hollywood Reporter's Producers Roundtable, "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie producer Michael DeLuca joked that Mark Wahlberg would have been a great fit for the role of Christian Grey.

"He looks a lot like Mark Wahlberg," the Fifty Shades producer quipped of the character Christian Grey, Us Weekly reports.

"I mean, the woman wrote a fantasy: a square-jawed, tall, broad-shouldered, genius, billionaire Adonis..."

"So, Mark," producer Dede Gardner piped in.

"No, sounds like Brad Pitt to me," Wahlberg joked back.

According to Us Weekly, the star of the upcoming film "Pain & Gain" was eyeing the movie rights to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie for a while, and almost fired his agent when he didn't get them, he revealed during the Producers Roundtable.

"I almost fired my agent Ari [Emanuel] over [Fifty Shades] -- not because I wanted to play the part. We were aware of the book very early on, and we were close to securing the rights, and then we get into this bidding war," Wahlberg, 42, said about the highly-anticipated movie.

As most fans already know, neither Brad Pitt nor Mark Wahlberg will be playing Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the best-selling erotic novel.

Jamie Dornan was cast in the role, after "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the project.

When DeLuca was asked about Hunnam's very public exit last month, he said he "didn't feel pressure" because he already had a "possible replacement" in mind. "It's called being prepared," he noted.
