Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: Alleged Image Of New Android Phone's Metal Frame Leaked, Rumors Say Phone May Get Larger Screen

The Galaxy Note 3 was announced just over two months ago, yet the focus is already on the upcoming handset for the S line. Previous Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors suggest that the Droid would boast a 64-bit processor, and even become waterproof and dustproof just like Sony's previous flagship handsets.

Now, another rumor points out to a metal frame enclosing the upcoming Android phone from the Korean manufacturer.

In a report by GSM Arena, an image of an alleged metal frame for the Galaxy S5 was leaked, and is now making the rounds over the Internet. As far as dimensions are concerned, the frame measures 143.8 x 72.3mm, a little higher than the 136.6 x 69.8mm for the current Galaxy S4, and slightly lower than the Galaxy Note 3's 151.2 x 79.2mm.

While Samsung is known for releasing bigger follow-ups to its Galaxy S line through the years, this may not be a good move in case it pans out accurate. That's because consumers would have a difficult time choosing not among the S line handsets, but between the S5 and the Note 3, whose dimensions are only a few millimeters apart.

While the allaged metal frame looks promising, that still does not automatically suggest a metal-clad casing. For all we know, Samsung may just cover it with durable plastic, just like what it has done in the past.

Another possible angle is that the frame is not for the S5, but for the rumored F line which will boast premium design and specs.

Let us just wait for Samsung to make the announcement which may come before the year ends.
