A few days after it announced the release date of the Mac Pro, which is pegged at December 2013, Apple released a selection of Mac Pro posters to a number of U.S. tech journalists at Dallas Morning News, CNET and TidBITS.

The International Business Times reported that the featured images showcased the redesigned form factor of the new Mac Pro and it came with the following message:

“It's the computer we were insane to build. The one that turns conventional thinking on its head, then kicks the living $#&% out of it. We challenged all our assumptions. Abandoned our preconceptions. And blew away limitation after limitation. This is the new Mac Pro. It's like no Mac we've created before. And we can't wait to see what you create with it.”

The posters may soon be featured in magazine ads, according to Business Times, but for now until the high-end units are actually in store, they’re purely promotional. The increased hype for the workstation is based on the fact that it’s aesthetic look has been radically redesigned and the “Made In U.S.A” label it carries. The tech leader unveiled a video of the device being manufactured when it announced the new iPads last October 22.

The upcoming Mac Pro will have a 12-core Intel Xeon processor, PCI-Express based flash storage, dual AMD FirePro GPUs, and the ability to connect three 4K resolution monitors. Aside from all this, the port selection options for the Mac Pro include Thunderbolt 2, USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4 and a set of Gigabit Ethernet connectors. The work station will also have wireless connectivity that comes in either 802.11ac and Blueetooth 4.0. The base model will have a price tag of $2,999.

In a report by Digital Trends, it noted that the new Mac Pro will be powered by a 3.7GHz quad-core Xeon processor, 12 GB of DRAM, dual FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM each and a 256GB SSD.

Flextronics, Apple’s manufacturing partner for the Mac Pro was reported to have expanded its workforce by 1,700 to accommodate the demand for Mac Pro
