Xiaomi Mi3 specs, update: What Chinese tech giant Xiaomi labels as it’s fastest phone yet and China’s fastest selling handset is about to get an upgrade, with the new set of Xiaomi Mi3’s that is scheduled to be released on December 19.

According to Android Headlines, Xiaomi is expected to launch a couple of new products before the year ends. One of them is a Xiaomi Mi3 with a faster Snapdragon 800 CPU. The upgraded chipset for the flagship will have a 2.5 GHz clock speed.

The upcoming new version of the Xiaomi Mi3 will also have 3G WCDMA support, thus supporting other networks beyond China, Hong Kong and Taiwan where Xiaomi Mi3 is currently being offered.

Phone Arena noted that the Xiaomi Mi3 is also one of the very first smartphones to incorporate the new Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard which runs on the less busy 5GHz band. The gadget review and news site said that because of this, Mi3 provides higher speeds than the conventional smartphone.

Unlike U.S. tech manufacturers, Xiaomi produces a new batches of handsets every week at a rate of up to 100,000 units per model. It releases them every Tuesday noon, Beijing time. Using this production technique, the company is able to integrate increment updates on the device based on consumer feedback.

The first batch of 100,000 units of Xiaomi Mi3 offered by the company was sold out in 86 seconds. It has made it one of the fastest selling handsets in China.

Aside from the updated Xiaomi Mi3, the company is also launching it’s own set of smart routers in China as well. The new routers will offer the ability to get through the firewall to browse the rest of the web.
