Chromebook With 11.6" 1366 x 768 Touchscreen Display Released By Acer, Powered By Celeron Haswell CPU, 2GB RAM, 32GB Internal Storage, Hitting Stores In December

Acer has been one of the top PC makers during the past decade, but it has slowly been overshadowed by other giants such as Lenovo, especially in the Windows PC industry. Now, it may be looking for some daylight with the release of a new Chromebook.

In a report by GSM Arena, the PC manufacturer has just unveiled the Acer C720P Chromebook, a sequel to the highly successful C720 model. And like other notebooks in the market today, the C720P also boasts a touchscreen for better and easier interaction with Google apps and services.

However, in comparison to Google's own Chromebook 11, the Acer C720P sells much lower, starting at just $299.99. With that kind of price-tag, together with some 'technical issues' on the HP-manufactured Chromebook 11, Acer's device may get more interest and nods from the market.

The Acer C720P packs Intel's Celeron 2995U Haswell CPU and report claims it to have a battery life of about 7.5 hours, which is pretty impressive given that it also has an 11.6" 1366 x 768 display.

In addition, the Chromebook also features 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory with 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. Other notable specs inlcude an HD webcam, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, an HDMI port and stereo speakers.

Accoridng to the report, BestBuy, Amazon and Acer itself are going to offer the Acer C720P Chromebook in December.
