'Bond 24' News: Moneypenny Actress 'Relieved' Sam Mendes Returning; Naomi Harris Says James Bond Movies 'Need' 'SkyFall' Director

"Bond 24" was in danger of getting dropped by "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes, who said the idea of directing another James Bond movie made him "physically ill." But the news that Sam Mendes is returning to direct "Bond 24" is a great relief to Naomi Harris, who played Moneypenny in "Skyfall."

In an interview with Total Film, Bond girl Naomie Harris reveals why she thinks Sam Mendes is absolutely crucial to making the next James Bond film, "Bond 24," Yahoo! News reports.

"I'm so relieved," Harris said. "He chose me and had a vision for my character. I'd feel really weird working for someone who hadn't chosen me and didn't have that same vision."

"I just want him to see it through," Harris continued. "I feel like 'Skyfall' is one part of a continuing story. It needs completing and it needs the same storyteller."

Fortunately, Mendes has agreed to return for "Bond 24," which is rumored to be titled "Devil May Care," Yahoo! reports. Naomi Harris will once again play Moneypenny, and it is believed that her role will develop in the next Bond film, and instead of just serving as an assistant, we're hoping she'll go out into the field with the 007 agent.

As we previously reported, "Bond 24" may see the return of Blofield as the villain. The rights for the character Blofield, who headed up the secretive Cold War organisation SPECTRE, are settled, after they were previously jointly owned by 007 creator Ian Fleming and "Thunderball" co-writer Kevin McClory, Sky Movies reports, making his return to the franchise possible.

While there has been no confirmation that Blofield will return for the upcoming latest installment in the James Bond franchise, rumors suggest it is possible, since Blofeld is one of the most famous villains in cinema, having appeared in six Bond films, Sky Movies reports. His iconic look - grey pantsuit, bald head, and a white cat in his lap - inspired the famous parody in the form of Doctor Evil in the Austin Powers series.
