Guardians Of The Galaxy Cast Chris Pratt Talks About His Role As A Leader Of The Titular Group Star Lord Saying, ‘He's Got A False Sense Of Bravado’

Guardians of the Galaxy cast Chris Pratt was captivated by Marvel's growing cinematic universe that he signed on for the lead part as Star Lord in the film without having to read the script from it.

The Parks and Recreation star is not at all worried that by signing on a deal in James Gunn's movie, Guardians of the Galaxy as the main cast, means that he might also have to star in a bunch of sequels and crossover movies, he is excited in fact.

With his interview with Fandango the 34-year old actor said that, "Just the fact that [Star-Lord] was part of the Marvel brand was really exciting. I was signed up to do the movie before I was even allowed to read a script, so it wasn't like something about this particular character that got me to do it. The fact that it was a Marvel movie is what got me to do it."

Despite not being to read the script and still joining the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, Gunn's script was able to impress Pratt, he openly admitted that he immediately had a connection with the character of Star Lord.

"Granted, once I did read it there were so many things about the character that I love, and one thing is that he's very much a kid at heart," Pratt revealed.

"He's like a man-child. And I like the idea that he's got a false sense of bravado. Deep down inside he's lonely and desperate. But on the outside he walks around like he's big and tough, and I don't think he does a great job of convincing everybody that he's not just a scared little child," he added.

Guardians of the Galaxy cast, Chris Pratt is going to be the leader of the group, whose members include Groot, a tree that can talk and will likely to be voiced by Vin Diesel and Rocket Raccoon, an anthropomorphic raccoon, who is also an assassin on the film.

It's pretty much understandable why Marvel had to force their prospective casts into going through such secretive process, since they wouldn't want any rejected actors to reveal information about the film in the public.

With Guardians of the Galaxy looking to be Marvel's most eccentric and out of the ordinary cinematic attempt, it's a no brainer why they are trying to keep information from leaking to the public.

The footage which will be shown at D23 Expo and Comic-Con adds too much of excitement from the fans, and now Marvel fanatics are chewing at the footage for an official trailer to be released.
