Fans Question Fallout 4 Teaser Website Before Spike VGX 2013: Will Bethesda Announce Sequel In December?

The longstanding rumors regarding Fallout 4 have risen to a new height with a recent teaser website called Survivor2299, but some are doubting its legitimacy.

When clicking on the assumed Fallout 4 teaser website, the message "Nuclear winter is coming..." appears with a countdown meter. Although everything about the enigmatic website sounds like Fallout 4, some are pointing out a few details which may put the website into question.

The countdown, by everyone's theory, is counting down to Spike VGX 2013, one of the biggest gaming shows of the year. The assumption is that if Bethesda is making an announcement regarding Fallout 4, it would be during the event.

But by that measure, the countdown on the website is actually wrong. Spike VGX 2013 will be on December 7, but the countdown would end on December 11.

Another inconsistency has to down with the domain registration, as noted by Kotaku.

"Yes, the domain says it was registered by Bethesda parent company ZeniMax, but there are inconsistencies between this website and other registered Bethesda domains, as this Redditor notes," writes Kotaku contributor Jason Schreier.

"The server is configured differently, the domain names were registered through GoDaddy instead of ZeniMax's usual service, Corporate Domains Inc, and a reverse lookup on the IP leads you to a company in Poland, oddly enough."

So far, Bethesda has no comment on the website, but with Spike VGX a week away, fans should get some confirmation as to whether Fallout 4 is forthcoming or not.
