Metal Gear Solid 5 Release Date For Sequel Is Still Going To ‘Take A While,” Releases Ground Zeroes Prologue Concept After Fan Pressure

Metal Gear Solid 5 director Hideo Kojima revealed during a recent interview that the game's sequel is going to "take a while" due to the massive scale, according to Kotaku.

Kojima also revealed that he decided to release Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in an effort to appease fans pressuring the game's developers.

"The main game - The Phanton Pain - is extremely massive and is still going to take a while. I discussed the situation with the marketing team and after much deliberation decided at least to let people play the prologue," he said during the interview.

Last week, Kojima revealed that the game might not be released until "the time that the Playstation 4 becomes widely adaptable," Famitsu reports, leaving many gamers wondering if they will have to wait until 2015.

"The main game -The Phantom Pain - is extremely massive and is still going to take a while. I discussed the situation with the marketing team and after much deliberation decided at least to let people play the prologue," Kojima told the website.

"It looks like we'll be able to release The Phantom Pain around the time that the PlayStation 4 becomes widely adapted."

Although an official release date has yet to be announced, the developer also mentioned that the new game will allow new custom soundtracks.

"Snake in GZ always carries 'Walkman.' You can listen to any song you like with it during the mission or even on the helicopter. I think 007 's theme of Bond (arranged by MOBY) & "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" theme fit well when sneaking in. I unexpectedly cried over Adel's "Skyfall" when rescuing," Kojima revealed.
