‘X-Men Apocalypse’ – Bryan Singer Announces Another X-Men Film To Be Released May 2016; The Most Powerful Mutant Will Take Centerstage

In the same week that announced Wonder Woman in the "Man Of Steel" sequel, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer also made waves as he announced another X-men movie to be released in May 2016.

That's exactly two years after DOFP, and a year removed from "Avengers: Age Of Ultron." Fox is really aggressive and is making sure that they will not be left behind in the superhero war between the major studios.

Fox will not be left behind in "Superhero year 2015" though. They will release the Fantastic Four reboot at that time. These are really exciting times for comic book fans.

In related news, writer and producer Simon Kinberg has renewed his contract with Fox. The extension will run for three years. During this period, Kinberg will be expected to expand the X-Men series into a full blown universe. It is also anticipated that he will supervise speculated grand crossover between X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Kinberg relates: "I have a lot of ideas on how to build those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel. I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies."

There was never any problem between Kinberg and Fox, despite his numerous projects outside the studio: "They've always been incredibly generous with me and trusting me with movies. They treat me like a partner and not an employee."

The president of production at 20th Century Fox, Emma Watts shares: "Simon is one of the best out there, We feel very lucky that he calls Fox his home and hope to build our slates together for many years to come."

Apocalypse is known as the most powerful mutant in the Marvel Universe. He is more than a thousand years old and has sought the complete dominance of "Homo Superior" (what they call mutants in the comic books) over the Homo Sapiens. He believes that only the strong should survive, and thus, it is his goal to bring the "apocalypse" to the weak.

So after dealing with human-made threats in "Days of Future Past," the X-Men will have to face the strongest of their kind.
