Serena Williams Boyfriend 2013: Patrick Mouratoglou Comments Upset American Tennis Star? American Tennis Star Lashes Back At Claims He ‘Rescued’ Her

Serena Williams may have had a negative reaction to a CNN article mentioning that her coach and rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou "rescued" her from her declining tennis career.

"Mouratoglou gives all praise to Serena, minimizing his impact by saying his role is to 'reduce [her] chances to lose to the strict minimum.' Murphy follows a well-trodden path of Mouratoglou-as-catalyst that countless outlets, including The New York Times, The Times of London and USA TODAY Sports, have already covered. There's no denying Mouratoglou has been a boon to Serena's tennis," USA Today writes.

"Either way, Serena's game and confidence needed some fine-tuning, which Mouratoglou provided. She doesn't appear to need anything else."

Shortly after CNN's piece was published, Serena Williams wrote this on Twitter: "Philippians 4:13 'For all things I have the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me.' Never. From. Man."

Serena Williams needs to keep winning major tournaments to stay on top of her game, Bleacher Report posits, leaving fans wondering just how her coach and rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou will do so.

"She has won two majors each for the past two years, and it's important that she keeps up that pace if she wants to challenge Graf's 22," the website writes.

"Even though she is aging extremely gracefully, Serena's age will eventually catch up with her. It happens to everyone. Since Serena is already 32 years old, it's likely that she only has two or three more years at the top of the game."

Patrick Mouratoglou posted a video on YouTube highlighting "her incredible year."

The video, published on Monday, chronicled high and low points in Serena Williams' tennis career in 2013.
